KUCHING: The upcoming Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) session will be the last session of the current term, said Sarawak DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar. 

However, he mentioned that the date for the session has not been officially announced. 

"As usual, I will hold a press conference for the DUN session," he told reporters after attending the seminar 'Aku Kasih Malaysia Nationalism: Sarawak State Youth Leadership' here. 

"As you all know, the date has been revealed. Not by the DUN Secretary or me, but by the opposition – they said this is the date and so on. So, I will hold a press conference before the DUN session," Asfia said. 

On September 10, The Borneo Post saw the Sarawak Government Gazette stating that according to Standing Order 8(2) of the Sarawak DUN, the Sarawak Premier has scheduled the session to be held from October 12 to 21.

The notice dated September 10 was signed by the Secretary of the Sarawak State Assembly. Meanwhile, when asked if there were any Bills, especially important ones, to be presented at the session, Asfia said her office has not received any Bills from the state government. “My office hasn’t received any Bills from the government. Not yet,” she said.
